SpokerRide 2017 - 15th Annual Ride - 7/29/2017

About the SpokerRide

Ride or Race?
Is the SpokerRide a ride or race? Well, it's both! We have a 10 mile family fun ride that is not timed and winds through the village of Sackets Harbor and the historic 1812 battlefield and along the shores of Lake Ontario. Take your time on this ride and enjoy the views! Next there is a 30 mile (intermediate ride) that riders can choose to either compete with others (or themselves) and be timed. The 30 mile meanders through the back roads of Southern Jefferson County. The 50 mile (advanced) ride is for the more advanced riders - or those that want to challenge themselves - and just like the 30 mile riders can chose to be timed or not. Road marshals are at all major intersections and safety of our riders is of the upmost importance.
After the Ride
When you are done enjoy a lunch on us and then following the ride we draw for many door prizes that are donated by local businesses and supporters. All riders are given tickets when they pick up their race packets and are eligible to win the grand prize!
Race Awards
For riders that choose to be timed there are ribbons for the top 3 riders in each category, as well as the overall winners. Race timing is done by Auyer Race Timing - an experienced, well organized timing company.

The Venue
The SpokerRide starts and ends in Sackets Harbor NY. Sackets Harbor is a small village in Jefferson County NY on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario. Sackets Harbor is known for its excellent restaurants, quaint shops, museum and waterfront as well as being a key military location during the War of 1812. The battlefield and grounds overlook the shores of Lake Ontario and re-enactments are conducted in July of every year. The ride goes through the country roads of Southern Jefferson County and give riders an excellent view of the farmland and forests of the area.
